Emma & Nick’s Waterfront Wedding at The Fallbrook House

Emma and Nick celebrated their wedding at one of our favorite Canandaigua wedding venues, The Fallbrook House . They reached out early in the planning process and chose our partial-planning package, which gave us more time together to create a clear vision for their day. With additional planning meetings and a greater role in the decision-making process, we were able to take some details off their plates and bring everything together for one of our favorite weddings of the year!

Throughout the planning process, we helped refine their vision by recommending rental pieces, specialty linens, and additional decor to create a cohesive design. We also worked closely with Midnight Moss Co to develop table layouts that allowed the floral centerpieces to feel full and impactful without overcrowding the reception tables.

Because The Fallbrook House is a waterfront venue, making the most of the space for Emma and Nick’s larger guest count took a little extra creativity. Once the reception layout was finalized, we worked closely with Midnight Moss to adapt and repurpose the floral designs for larger table sizes and counts. The finished space felt really cohesive, comfortably fit every guest, and still left plenty of room for the Silver Arrow Band and a full dance floor all night long!

If you know anything about Ember, you know we love a good timeline! We created a detailed wedding-day schedule with multiple shuttle stops built in, giving Emma and Nick plenty of time for photos without ever feeling rushed. We also shared a full weekend itinerary with the wedding party, so everyone knew exactly where to be and when throughout the celebration!

One of our favorite parts of the day was their aunt officiating the ceremony for the first time. Before the wedding, we walked through the ceremony, readings, and pacing with her so she felt super confident and prepared!

Wedding day brought beautiful sunshine but some of the strongest winds of the year. And when we say windy, we mean seriously some of the craziest winds we have ever experienced on a wedding day! We had the rain plan ready and came very close to moving everything indoors, but after working through every option with the venue coordinator and vendor team, we came up with a game plan that allowed the ceremony to stay outside without compromising safety or the vision.

Silver Arrow Band was immediately on it, repositioning speakers and lowering their stands to keep everything stable while maintaining great sound. And the Midnight Moss team truly put themselves on the line to create ceremony florals that could withstand the wind without blowing over mid-vows. To this day, we’re still not totally sure how they pulled it off, and we’re only half convinced that they weren’t secretly crouched behind the arrangements holding it in place!

While the ceremony florals looked a little different from the original vision, we quickly created a plan to repurpose them throughout the reception space. The flowers could be enjoyed all evening, the ceremony stayed outside, and everything came together beautifully. Truly a win-win!

And rather than battling the wind for family portraits, photographer Jenny Berliner Photography made excellent use of The Fallbrook House’s indoor space and expansive windows, creating beautiful images while keeping everyone comfortable.

Despite the challenging weather, the day unfolded seamlessly. Behind the scenes, countless adjustments kept everything on track, allowing Emma, Nick, and their guests to simply enjoy the celebration. The reception was filled with incredible energy, thanks in large part to Silver Arrow Band, who kept the dance floor packed all evening and created an unforgettable atmosphere.
